Paul Mauro
Director, Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement
Paul Mauro was named the Director of the Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement (BIE) on May 2, 2012, providing seasoned leadership to the independent bureau of the PGCB that ensures the integrity of the Commonwealth’s gaming industry through conducting suitability and regulatory investigations.
Paul has over 20 years of law enforcement and regulatory experience encompassing bureaus at the federal, state and local levels. He joined the BIE in January 2006 as a Supervisor in the Harrisburg office and was promoted to Deputy Director of BIE in April 2007. Prior to his work with the BIE, he spent eight years with the Lancaster City Bureau of Police in which he attained the rank of Sergeant; three years as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service; and, four years as the Chief of Police for the 28-person Police Department of the Harrisburg International Airport.
In addition to his professional experience, Paul holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Psychology from Elizabethtown College, along with a Masters degree in Education from Kutztown University. He resides in Lititz, PA with his wife and three children.
