Michael Cruz

Chief Technology Officer

Michael Cruz was appointed to the position of Chief Technology Officer by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in April of 2013. As the Chief Technology Officer, Michael is responsible for the operation of the Board's Gaming Laboratory in addition to the Board's Office of Information Technology. Michael joined the Gaming Board in February 2006 as the Manager of Slot Certification and was an integral part of the commencement of slot operations at the Commonwealth's first casinos in late 2006. He also directed the opening of the expanded and state-of-the-art slot machine testing laboratory in Harrisburg in September of 2007, and then served as the Director of the Gaming Laboratory beginning in 2008. Preceding his employment with PGCB, Michael was a Senior Engineer with New Jersey's Division of Gaming Enforcement from 2003 to 2006 and earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
