May Table Games Revenue Up Almost 7% Over Previous Year

Overall casino revenue shows small rise in May

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced today that revenue from the play of table games at the 12 Commonwealth casinos during May of 2016 was up 6.9% over revenue generated for the same time period last year.

According to a report posted today on the Board’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, May’s gross table games revenue generated $71,342,206 or $4,594,185 more than in May 2015 when revenue totaled $66,748,021.

The Board also reported that the resulting tax revenue produced from table games play in May was $10,156,714*.

There was an average of 1,191 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis.

Table games gross revenue along with the percentage change for each of the casinos during May 2016 compared to May 2015 is as follows:

Combined gross revenue from the play of both slot machines and table games during May 2016 was $280,194,999, a rise of just under 1% over May of last year.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 and is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state’s casino industry. There are 10 stand-alone and racetrack casinos in operation, along with the two resort casinos.  These facilities collectively employ over 17,000 people and annually generate more than $1.4 billion in tax revenue from slot machine and table games play. The largest portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners with additional tax revenue going to the horse racing industry, economic development projects, fire companies, county fairs, water and sewer projects, the Commonwealth’s General Fund, and to local governments that host casinos.
