Table Games Revenue Up, Overall Gaming Revenue Slightly Down For PA Casinos In January

HARRISBURG, PA:  Gross revenue from gambling at table games in Pennsylvania casinos during January 2017 was 2.1% higher than January of last year, according to figures released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Posted on the Board’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, the report shows that this January’s gross table games revenue was $72,609,879 compared to $71,093,205 in revenue produced by the 12 casinos during January 2016.  

Total tax revenue from table games play during January was $11,692,065* with an average of 1,225 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis.

Gross table games revenue for each of the casinos for January 2017 and January 2016 is as follows:

The increase in table games revenue coupled with the earlier reported 2.4% decrease in slots revenue for January resulted in an overall gaming revenue decrease for the month of approximately 1.2%, per the below table:

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state’s casino industry. There are 10 stand-alone and racetrack casinos in operation, along with the two smaller resort casinos.  These facilities collectively employ 18,000 people and annually generate approximately $1.4 billion in tax revenue from slot machine and table games play. The largest portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners.
