Strong Revenue For Table Games In August Boosts Overall Casino Revenue By 2.5%

HARRISBURG, PA: A revenue increase for table games of nearly 11% during August was the driver of an increase for combined overall casino revenue during the month of 2.5%, according to figures released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The report, posted on the Board’s web site www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, shows that August 2017 table games revenue of $74,269,815 was an increase of 10.92% over August of last year when revenue was $66,955,105.

Total tax revenue from table games play during August was $11,955,074* with an average of 1,258 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis.

Gross table games revenue at each of the casinos for August 2017 and August 2016 is as follows:

When that amount is combined with the earlier reported August slot machine revenue, total gaming revenue was up more than $6.5 million, or 2.51% compared to August of last year. Those totals are as follows:

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board:

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state’s casino industry. There are 10 stand-alone and racetrack casinos in operation, along with the two smaller resort casinos.  These facilities collectively employ 18,000 people and annually generate approximately $1.4 billion in tax revenue from slot machine and table games play. The largest portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners.
