On July 17, 2021, Governor Tom Wolf appointed Nedia Ralston to a three-year term as a Commissioner to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Prior to the appointment, Ms. Ralston was serving as the Southeast Regional Director for Governor Wolf. In that position, she was the Governor’s official liaison to local government, coordinating stakeholder engagement for community and constituent groups, and for leaders across the eight-county southeastern region of the state.

A graduate of Hampton University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Ms. Ralston began her career as the Deputy Finance Director for then Pennsylvania State Representative and House Appropriations Chairman, now Congressman Dwight Evans. Ms. Ralston later joined the Wolf for Governor finance team as a Deputy Finance Director. Upon winning the Gubernatorial election in 2014, Nedia served as Deputy Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of the Wolf for Governor Transition Team.

Outside of her professional work, Nedia was elected in 2018 to Chair the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), the federally designated metropolitan planning organization for nine counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition, Ms. Ralston is a member of the Big Brother Big Sister Independence Philadelphia Regional Board, the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), and the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation Board. In 2020, Ms. Ralston was named as one of Philadelphia’s Most Influential African Americans under 40 and an African American Leader by The Philadelphia Tribune. Online publication BillyPenn.com highlighted Nedia Ralston as “Who’s Next in Politics: 19 Young People Making a Difference in Philly.”.

Nedia currently resides in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia where she serves as a member of United Neighbors of West Oak Lane Association.
