Board Approves Final Intervention Regulations
HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today began a 10-day public-comment period on draft regulations governing licensing hearings, and accounting and internal controls regulations. The comment period on both sets of regulations ends May 15, 2006.
Separately, the Board approved final regulations governing intervention in the hearings and appeals process.
Both the proposed regulations and the final regulations will be available for public inspection on the Board's Web site, www.pgcb.state.pa.us. To view either the draft or final regulations, click on the "Regulations" button on the home page.
Written comments on the draft regulations must be postmarked no later than May 15, 2006, and should be addressed to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, P.O. Box 69060, Harrisburg, Pa., 17106-9060, Attn: Public Comments.
Under Act 71 of 2004, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is responsible for licensing 14 gaming facilities across the state. The Board has jurisdiction over every aspect of the authorization and operation of slot machines in the Commonwealth.
About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.
The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and four mini-casinos (Category 4). A significant job generator in the Commonwealth, casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming generated $2.8 billion in tax revenue and fees in 2024/25.
