PA GAMING CONTROL BOARD ANNOUNCES NEW ORDER FOR SEPT. 11 HEARINGS

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced changes in the lineup of Licensing Hearings for the Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, hearings for conditional Category 1 licenses.The hearing schedule will include the same four applicants, but the order of format is will be as follows:

    • 9 - 11 a.m. - Downs Racing, L.P.
    • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. - Chester Downs and Marina, LLC
    • 2 - 4 p.m. - Presque Isle Downs, Inc.
    • 4 - 6 p.m. - Washington Trotting Association, Inc.

“The Board has modified the Suitability and Licensing Hearing Schedule for the Conditional Category 1 applicants in order to ensure that these hearings are conducted in an efficient manner and to maximize the time that has been set aside for the hearings,” according to Executive Director Anne Neeb.

As previously announced, the conditional Category 1 hearings on that day and the following day will be held in the State Museum, located at the corner of Third and North streets in Harrisburg. 

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.


The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and four mini-casinos (Category 4). A significant job generator in the Commonwealth, casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming generated $2.8 billion in tax revenue and fees in 2024/25.
