New Gaming Control Board Chairman To Take Oath At June 3rd Public Meeting

HARRISBURG: Gregory C. Fajt will be sworn in and then preside over his first meeting as Chairman of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on June 3, 2009.

Fajt, who was named Chairman by Governor Edward G. Rendell, will be administered the oath of office by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Max Baer beginning at 10:00 am.  Justice Baer is also expected to make some remarks.

The meeting, which had previously been scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start, will remain at the same location, the State Museum Auditorium at 303 North Street in Harrisburg.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.


The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and four mini-casinos (Category 4). A significant job generator in the Commonwealth, casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming generated $2.8 billion in tax revenue and fees in 2024/25.
