PA Gaming Control Board Reports Revenue for July

HARRISBURG, PA:  The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (“PGCB”) reported today that the combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming including fantasy contests during July 2026 was $591,090,324 or 5.99% above revenue generated in July 2025.

The resulting tax revenue during July of this year was $256,773,079*.

The following chart compiles all retail and online revenue generated in July 2026 by casinos, along with fantasy contests and VGTs operated by other vendors, and includes a comparison to total revenue generated in July 2025.

July’s revenue from the play of retail slot machines was $213,719,411, a 2.48% increase in revenue when compared to the $208,544,117 generated in July 2025.

 

The number of slot machines in operation in casinos during July 2026 was 24,561 compared to 24,362 in July 2025.

July 2026 total sports wagering handle was $509,536,348 or 23.53% higher than the July 2025 handle of $412,477,357.  The taxable revenue figure for July 2026 was $51,839,588, or 27.75% higher when compared to July 2025 when taxable revenue was $40,578,753.

Video Gaming Terminals

 

Total adjusted revenue for July 2026 for video gaming terminals (VGTs) was $3,352,347 or 3.17% lower than July 2025 when revenue was $3,462,043. By the end of July 2026, all VGT Operators offered the maximum permitted five machines at each of the 72 qualified truck stop establishments, compared to five machines at each of the 73 establishments at this time last year.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 18 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.


The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and five mini-casinos (Category 4). A significant job generator in the Commonwealth, casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming generated $3.1 billion in tax/fee revenue in Fiscal Year 2025/26.
