Gaming Control Board Postpones Category 4 Casino Auction; Regular Board Meeting Still to be Held Today
HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced that it has postponed today’s Category 4 Casino Auction due to the weather conditions and travel complications.
The next Category 4 Casino Auction now will be held on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at 10:00 A.M prior to the Board’s public meeting in the PGCB’s Office of Hearings and Appeals located on the second floor of the Strawberry Square complex in Harrisburg. The April 4th auction and public meeting will be streamed live from the Board’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov.
The Board also announced that it will hold its regularly scheduled meeting today at 10:00 A.M. That meeting will also be streamed from the Board’s web site.
About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.
The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and four mini-casinos (Category 4). A significant job generator in the Commonwealth, casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming generated $2.8 billion in tax revenue and fees in 2024/25.
