Gaming Control Board Returns to In-Person Public Meetings Beginning October 13th

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced today that it will return to holding its public meetings in-person beginning October 13, 2021. The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m.

This will be the first in-person regular Board meeting held in the PGCB’s 2nd Floor Strawberry Square location since March 2020 due to Covid-19 safety restrictions. For those who choose to attend, the Board will provide acceptable social distanced seating in the meeting room. Masks are required while in the meeting room.

The Board also announced that online access to view the meeting will be available through the Board’s website by choosing the “live” link on the PGCB Meeting Videos section on the homepage. The Board’s website address is https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/ . 

The agenda for the meeting will also be placed on the Board’s website prior to the meeting.

 About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling at 15 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.

The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and two mini-casinos (Category 4).  Casino expansion will continue over the next couple of years with the anticipated openings of up to three additional Category 4 casinos. A significant job generator in the Commonwealth, casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming is expected to generate more than $1.8 billion in tax revenue.
