PRESS RELEASE
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Reports Fiscal Year Gaming Revenue Tops $7 Billion for the First Time
HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (“PGCB”) today reported that revenue returned to the Commonwealth generated from the various games the agency regulates reached a record level during Fiscal Year 2025/2026.
The combined gross revenue produced from the casino slot machines and table games, iGaming, sports wagering, video gaming terminals (VGTs), and fantasy sports contests was $7,005,987,435, which is an all-time high during a fiscal year.
The resulting return of revenue to the Commonwealth from taxes and fees was $3,098,193,583, also a record amount for a fiscal year. This amount is the result of taxes on the various regulated games along with $110 million in slot machine license operation fees that fund local share accounts.
These amounts for revenue and taxes being reported are prior to any possible adjustments by the PA Department of Revenue.
Revenue from taxes and fees returned to Pennsylvania from the various forms of gaming regulated by the PGCB is used in a number of ways. These include, but are not limited to:
-
school property tax reduction on an owner’s primary residence;
-
state, county, and local economic development, safety and recreational projects;
-
support of the agricultural industry through support of horse racing;
-
grants for local municipalities and counties; and,
-
revenue toward the Commonwealth’s General Fund.
