Board Members

David S. Hickernell was appointed to a two-year term on the Gaming Control Board in February 2023 by House Republican Leader, Bryan Cutler.

Dave served as State Representative from 2002-2022 representing the 98th Legislative District in Lancaster and Dauphin Counties. During his tenure in the House, he served as majority chairman of the Tourism & Recreational Development Committee, the Education Committee and the Professional Licensure Committee.

As state representative, Dave was the author of numerous pieces of legislation, having 15 bills signed into law.

Dave has a long history of public service having served as the elected Clerk of Courts for Lancaster County and held numerous key staff positions in the House of Representatives for nearly two decades.

A graduate of Donegal High School and Elizabethtown College, Dave holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology. He is a lifelong resident of Lancaster County and currently resides in West Donegal Township with his wife Karen.
