Board Members

On October 30, 2021, Governor Tom Wolf appointed Sara Manzano-Díaz, the first Latina Commissioner to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Commissioner Manzano-Díaz has accomplished significant and distinguished public service work on both the state and federal levels.  Among her State government positions, she served as the highest-ranking Latina Law Enforcement official in the role as Pennsylvania’s Executive Deputy Attorney General for Public Protection. In addition, Manzano-Díaz served the Commonwealth as Deputy Secretary of State for Regulatory Programs.

At the Federal government level, Manzano-Díaz served as the Regional Administrator for the U.S. Department of General Services, overseeing the agency’s businesses in six states, as well as, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Her Federal government experience includes the appointment as the Director of the Women’s Bureau in the U.S. Department of Labor, in addition to, various Senior Executive Service positions at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Commissioner Manzano-Díaz is active in community service that includes serving on the Board of Directors of the National Public Housing Museum based in Chicago and the Mann Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the President’s Leadership Council and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Advisory Council at Jefferson Health. Additionally, she is a member of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women. In recognition of her accomplishments, she has been the recipient of numerous global, national and local civic awards.

Manzano-Díaz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and Communications from Boston University and a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law. She resides in Philadelphia, with her husband, retired Judge Nelson A. Díaz.
