HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported today on its web site that total revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos during February was up 1.12% compared to the amount generated a year ago.
According to the report, this February’s gross revenue at the twelve operating casinos from slot machine play was $183,203,043 compared to $181,178,730 of gross revenue in February 2014. Tax revenue generated in February of this year from slot machine play was $97,748,225.
Gross revenue for each of the casinos operating in February 2015 is as follows, with the percentage change reflected for those casinos.

The average number of operating slot machines throughout Pennsylvania was 26,351 in February 2015 compared to 26,620 at the casinos in February 2014.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board was established in 2004 and is tasked to oversee all aspects of the state’s casino industry. There are 10 stand-alone and racetrack casinos in operation, along with the two resort casinos. These facilities collectively employ over 17,700 people and generate an average of $3.7 million per day in tax revenue from slot machine and table games play. The largest portion of that money is used for property tax reduction to all Pennsylvania homeowners with additional tax revenue going to the horse racing industry, economic development projects, fire companies, county fairs, water and sewer projects, the Commonwealth’s General Fund, and to local governments that host casinos.

About the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.
The land-based casino industry in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and four mini-casinos (Category 4).
