PRESS RELEASE
HARRISBURG, PA: Fueled by a nearly 28% increase in iGaming revenue over the previous year, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) is reporting that 2023 combined gaming revenue achieved a record high.
The 2023 calendar year combined revenue figure reported by the PGCB was $5,697,218,115 and consists of the combined revenue of slot machines, table games, sports wagering, iGaming, video gaming terminals (VGTs) and fantasy contests. That figure is 9.3% above the 2022 combined revenue amount of $5,211,335,687.
The resulting tax revenue of $2,343,399,312 generated in 2023 through these forms of gaming was also a record besting the $2,123,019,992 generated in 2022. Tax revenue figures reflect amounts generated prior to any adjustments by the PA Department of Revenue.

Gross revenue from slot machines at the casinos was $2,463,698,452, a 3.05% increase in revenue when compared to the $2,390,757,300 generated in 2022.

Sports Wagering Revenue
2023 revenue from sports wagering was $458,616,339, a 14.31% increase in revenue when compared to the $401,208,108 generated in 2022. Sports wagering handle, the amount wagered through both retail and online, was $7.68 billion, a 5.95% increase over 2022’s handle of $7.25 billion.
