HARRISBURG, PA: Susan Hensel, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's Director of the Bureau of Licensing, will be part of a panel discussion on gaming at the 48th Annual Meeting and Regional Policy Forum held by the Council of State Governments. The event will be held August 10-13, 2008 at the Sheraton Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

PGCB Report Provides Impact of Slot Machine Revenue on Pari-Mutuel Wagering

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today released its first benchmark report to determine the impact of slot machine play on Pennsylvania pari-mutuel wagering.

The report, which compares the status of pari-mutuel wagering between the years of 2006 and 2007, focuses on revenue from slots play and the various indicators of pari-mutuel health such as purse amounts, racing handle(the total amount wagered by patrons) and exporting of live racing signals to other properties both inside and outside Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today published on its web site the ownership structure of the proposed joint venture agreement by Holding Acquisition, Co., L.P. and PITG Gaming, L.L.C. which, is currently pending before the Board for its consideration.

Additional Law Enforcement Grants Target Only Illegal Slot Machines

HARRISBURG: The Chairman of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today reiterated that grants awarded under a program mandated in the Gaming Act are to be used only to enforce and prevent the unlawful operation of slot machines in the Commonwealth, and not for illegal activities involving small games of chance.

Mary DiGiacomo Colins made this announcement following the latest approvals by the Gaming Control Board of five new grant requests totaling $272,364.83 to local law enforcement agencies.

Valley View Downs Request for Conditional Slots Gaming License Denied By PGCB

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today denied a request by the developers of the Valley View Downs racetrack in Lawrence County to grant a Conditional Category 1 slots gaming license prior to the completion of its background investigation and suitability hearing.

Location Change For July 10 PGCB Meeting

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced today that the location for its Thursday, July 10, 2008 board meeting has been moved to the State Museum Auditorium. The meeting had been previously scheduled to be held at the North Office Building in Harrisburg.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. The State Museum Auditorium is located at 303 North Street in Harrisburg.

Speech By Gaming Control Board CFO to Kick Off The Annual Meeting of Pennsylvania Township Commissioners

HARRISBURG, PA: Eileen H. McNulty, Chief Financial Officer for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, will be the opening speaker for the 83rd Annual State Association of Township Commissioners Convention. The event will be held June 23-25, 2008 at the Willow Valley Resort in Lancaster.

Mt. Airy Casino Resort Closes Due to Power Outage

HARRISBURG: Mount Airy Casino Resort reopened for business today after a severe thunderstorm Saturday evening interrupted power to the non-casino areas of the facility and led to the evacuation of the entire facility including the casino floor.

Gaming Control Board Fines Philadelphia Park for Permitting Underage Individuals on Gaming Floor

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today assessed Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, Inc. (Philadelphia Park Casino and Racetrack) an $18,000 fine along with $8,000 in donations for programs dealing with problem gaming education, treatment and outreach for allowing underage individuals on their gaming floor.

Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment also agreed to increase the number of security posts, increase security staffing and provide retraining for all security staff to identify and evict underage individuals.
