HARRISBURG, PA:   The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported today on its web site that total revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos during March was down 5.7% compared to the amount generated a year ago.

According to the report, this March’s gross revenue from slot machine play at the twelve casinos was $216,213,980 compared to $229,335,372 of gross revenue in March 2013. Tax revenue generated in March of this year just from slot machine play was $115,684,705.

HARRISBURG, PA:  Despite continued harsh weather, revenue from table games play at the 12 Pennsylvania casinos rose 3.25% to $57.1 million in February 2014, according to a report released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.  Table games revenue last February was $55,348,241.

The monthly report, posted on the Board’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, also shows that $8,269,771 million in tax revenue was generated from table games this February.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has begun accepting requests from citizens, public officials and community groups who wish to provide oral or written testimony regarding the joint venture application between Endeka Entertainment, L.P.  and Penn National Gaming, Inc. to obtain a Category 1 casino license at its proposed harness racing facility in Lawrence County. The facility would do business as Lawrence Downs Casino and Racing Resort

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported today on its web site that total revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos during February was down 7.54% compared to the amount generated a year ago.

According to the report, this February’s gross revenue at the twelve operating casinos from slot machine play was $181,178,730 compared to $195,945,210 of gross revenue in February 2013. Tax revenue generated in February of this year just from slot machine play was $96,921,946.

HARRISBURG, PA:   Recognizing the effects problem gambling can have on people, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board passed a resolution recognizing March as “Problem Gambling Awareness Month” and encouraged all citizens to learn more about the signs of problem gambling and to help spread the message about the availability of treatment.

HARRISBURG, PA:   The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday levied a fine of $15,000 against the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh for permitting an underage patron to gamble and consume alcohol at its property.

The fines were the result of the approval by the Board at its public meeting of a consent agreement between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and Holdings Acquisitions Co., L.P., holder of the casino license.

HARRISBURG, PA: Revenue from table games play at the 12 Pennsylvania casinos was $58.7 million in January 2014, according to a report released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. 

That amount represents a 1.12% decrease in revenue from table games play during January of this year compared to January of 2013.

HARRISBURG, PA:  The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board the play of slot machines at casinos during January. fell 8.7% in January of this year to $171,786,456 compared to the $188,244,599 in gross revenue generated in January 2013. 

HARRISBURG, PA:  Total combined gross revenue from the play of slot machines and table games at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos during calendar year 2013 dropped just over one-percent from 2012, but still marked the third straight year in which the revenue figure topped $3 billion.

According to figures released today by the Gaming Control Board, combined gross revenue from casino gaming was $3,113,928,590 in 2013, 1.4% under total gross revenue in 2012 of $3,158,317,863.

HARRISBURG, PA:   The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday levied fines totaling $90,000 against Chester Downs and Marina, LLC, operator of Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack in Delaware County.

The fines were the result of two consent agreements between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and the casino license holders which were approved by the Board at its public meeting in Harrisburg.
