PA Gaming Control Board Approves Ownership Change For Hollywood Casino At Penn National

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved the change of control of the Category 1 Slots Operator license held by Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, owner of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Dauphin County, to PNG Acquisition Company.

Under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, the Gaming Control Board has the duty to protect the public through the regulation and policing of all activities involving gaming. The Board must approve any change in control of a slot machine license.

PA Gaming Control Board’s First Executive Director Steps Down

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today accepted the resignation of the agency’s first Executive Director, Anne LaCour Neeb. Neeb’s resignation is effective on June 6, 2008.

On an interim basis, the PGCB announced that Frank T. Donaghue, currently the Board’s Chief Counsel, will serve as Acting Executive Director while it conducts a nation-wide search for a new Executive Director.

PA Gaming Control Board Supports Efforts To Improve Horse Health And Welfare

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board this week approved a resolution which supports efforts to invest in horse health and welfare.

Commissioner Gary Sojka introduced the resolution and encouraged its passage as a way of showing the Board’s support for equine health as a result of recent high-profile catastrophic injuries to thoroughbred racehorses.

PA GAMING CONTROL BOARD APPROVES EQUIPMENT- MANUFACTURER REGULATIONS, APPLICATION FORMS

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today unanimously approved regulations governing manufacturers of gaming equipment and general administration. Separately, the Board agreed to publish application forms for equipment manufacturers within a week and to accept an initial phase of equipment-manufacturer applications for consideration through Aug. 15, 2005.

PA Gaming Control Board Adopts Second Regulatory Reform Measure

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved for public comment an amendment to its regulations that will increase the public visibility of the licensing process while honoring the confidentiality provisions of the Gaming Act.

The amendment, the second of a package of regulatory updates adopted by the Board, adds two new provisions to existing procedures for slot license hearings. These provisions, which will be posted on the Board web site for 30-day public comment after approval by the Pennsylvania Attorney General, will:

PA Gaming Control Board Announces Public Input Hearing Schedule For Category 1 And 3 Slots Casino License Applicants

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced a schedule of Public Input Hearings for a Category 1 slots casino at a horse race track in Lawrence County and three applicants for two available Category 3 slots casino licenses at existing resorts.

Under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, these Public Input Hearings must be held in the municipality where the facility will be located and organized in cooperation with the municipality. The schedule is as follows:

PGCB'S Director Of Compulsive And Problem Gambling To Play Key Role With International Association

HARRISBURG: Nanette Horner, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's Director of Compulsive and Problem Gambling, has been appointed to the Responsible Gaming Committee for the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL).

Horner, who joined the Board's Office of Chief Counsel in 2005, was named the first Director of the Office of Compulsive and Problem Gambling in September, 2006.

Gaming Control Board Chairman Mary DiGiacomo Colins says Nan Horner's participation in this important committee falls in lockstep with a chief goal of this agency.

PGCB’s Director Of Licensing Named Executive Secretary Of International Gaming Association

HARRISBURG: Susan Hensel, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s Director of Licensing, has been appointed Executive Secretary of the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR). The two-year appointment was made by IAGR Chair Dennis Neilander, the current Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Hensel replaces Alicia Gibson of South Africa.

Neilander stated that he wished to thank Susan for accepting the position as Executive Secretary and the state of Pennsylvania for allowing her to fill this important and demanding position.
