HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has announced today that its public meeting on April 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. will occur as scheduled.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the meeting will occur telephonically to minimize any risk associated with public gatherings.  In order to assure transparency and public visibility, the Board is providing opportunities for the public and interested persons to link to the meeting through an audio interface.

However, recognizing that many people gather casino revenue statistics in order to analyze the industry, the Gaming Control Board is providing a summary of total gaming and fantasy contests revenue generated in the Commonwealth during February 2020.  

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today instructed the six Pennsylvania casinos that are open as of today to begin closing procedures so that all gaming activities and entry to patrons is concluded by 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17. The order to close follows the rapid expansion of reported COVID-19 cases and is aimed at mitigating the spread of the virus.

HARRISBURG, PA: Figures released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board shows total gaming and fantasy contests revenue generated in the Commonwealth during January 2020 was $302,844,383 which represents a 16.94% increase over revenue generated in January 2019.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today reported that preliminary figures show $30.7 million was wagered in the Commonwealth on this past weekend’s Super Bowl through retail and online sportsbooks and payouts of just over $34 million. This resulted in a loss of revenue to operators of over $3.3 million.

HARRISBURG, PA: Figures released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board shows total gaming and fantasy contests revenue generated in the Commonwealth during December 2019 was 3.4% above revenue generated in December 2018.

Sources of gaming revenue regulated by the Board include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, retail and internet sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals. The Board has posted separate reports for these types of gaming on its website.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) today fined Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, LLC, operator of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Dauphin County, $20,000 for conducting poker tournaments that had not been approved by the agency.

The fine was the result of a Board approval at its public meeting of a consent agreement between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, LLC.
