HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it would hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 25, 2013 to gather evidence, including public comment, on the renewal of the casino license of Downs Racing, LP, operator of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Luzerne County.

The hearing will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Township of Plains Municipal Building #2 located at 50 Second Street in Plains, Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG, PA: Trailing only the amount of revenue generated last March, slot machine revenue in March of this year at Pennsylvania’s casinos tallied the second highest monthly amount since the opening of casinos in 2006.

The overall combined revenue figure for the 11 Commonwealth casinos was part of the monthly report posted today on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s web site. The total gross revenue of $229,335,372 was 1.6% lower than March of 2012 when casinos produced the highest amount of slot machine revenue, $233,147,479. 

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today released its sixth annual Racetrack Casino Benchmark Report. Since its first release in 2008, this annual report has concentrated on the impact that Pennsylvania's casinos have had on the state's horse racing industry.

HARRISBURG, PA: The play of table games at Commonwealth casinos during February generated nearly eight million dollars in tax revenue according to figures posted today on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov.

With an average of 1,049 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis during February, gross revenue from the play of all table games was $55,348,241, producing $7,987,252 in tax revenue.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced that it recently received its 5,000th individual request to voluntarily be excluded from entering and participating in gaming activities at all Commonwealth casinos under the Board's Self-Exclusion Program. 

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today levied fines against four casino operators totaling $157,000 for various violations.

All of the fines were the result of Board approvals of consent agreements between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and the casino license holders.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported today on its web site that total revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos during February was down 9.2% compared to the amount generated a year ago.

According to the report, this February's gross revenue at the eleven operating casinos from slot machine play was $195,945,210 compared to $215,687,739 of gross revenue in February 2012. Tax revenue generated in February of this year just from slot machine play was $105,113,514.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced today that it has added an additional date and location to collect public input for the awarding of the second casino license in Philadelphia.

HARRISBURG - The state departments of Drug and Alcohol Programs, Revenue and Agriculture – along with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board – are working together during "Problem Gambling Awareness Week," March 3-9, to ensure that Pennsylvanians with gambling addiction problems know that help is available.

HARRISBURG, PA: Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, Inc, operator of the Parx Casino in Bucks County, agreed to fines totaling $25,000 for two separate matters, one in which an underage individual was permitted entry onto the gaming floor and gambled, and the other stemming from a failure of the company to disclose to the Board the existence of a service agreement.

The fines were the result of approvals today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board of consent agreements between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and the casino license holder.
