HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, charged by statute with overseeing the development of slots gaming in the Commonwealth and subsequently regulating the multi-billion dollar industry, today made three appointments to key staff positions, according to Tad Decker, Chairman of the Board.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will hold a public meeting at noon on Thursday Aug. 4, 2005, in Hearing Room #1 of the North Office Building in the Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. The North Office Building is at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and North Street. People without Capitol credentials should enter the building from North Street for security clearance.

Limited seating is reserved for the media, and a mult-box connection will be provided.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today launched a month-long public-comment period on draft regulations governing Category 2 and Category 3 gaming facilities and the Board’s Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement.

“Act 71 gives the Board the ‘power and duty’ to adopt the regulations necessary to bring expanded gaming to Pennsylvania and ensure its integrity,” said Board Chairman Tad Decker. “With each set of regulations we develop, we move a step closer to the day when expanded gaming can begin in the Commonwealth.”

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, charged by statute with overseeing the implementation and regulation of expanded gaming in the Commonwealth, today agreed to accept applications for “Conditional Category 1” operating licenses through Oct. 31, 2005. Application forms, and instructions for completing the applications, will be posted on the Board’s Web site, www.pgcb.state.pa.us, within a week.
