PA Gaming Control Board Announces 2006 Public Meeting Schedule

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will hold public meetings on the first and third Thursdays of every month in 2006, except January. All meetings will begin at 10 a.m. and will take place in Hearing Room #1 of the North Office Building, Commonwealth Avenue and North Street, Harrisburg.
In January, the Board will meet on Thursday Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. in Hearing Room #1 of the North Office Building.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is tasked to oversee all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, and Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.

PA Gaming Control Board Receives 25 Application Submissions for Operator Licenses

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it has received 25 application submissions for licenses to operate gaming facilities in the Commonwealth.

“This is an historic day for gaming in Pennsylvania,” said Chairman Tad Decker. “My fellow Board members and I look forward to the complex and important work that lies ahead in awarding licenses for Pennsylvania’s 14 gaming facilities.”

Change in Start Time for Jan. 19 PA Gaming Control Board Meeting

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s Jan. 19, 2006, meeting will begin at 11 a.m., not 10 a.m., as originally announced.

The meeting will still be held in Hearing Room #1 of the North Office Building in the Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. The North Office Building is at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and North Street.

PA Gaming Control Board Releases Updated List Of Operator Applicants

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today released an updated preliminary list of the entities and individuals who have submitted applications for licensure as part of the 25 applications submitted to the Board for licenses to operate gaming facilities in the Commonwealth.

The Board will continue to release updated lists of submissions as more information becomes available.

PA Gaming Control Board Announces Public-Input Hearings

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced a comprehensive schedule of public-input hearings on gaming facilities proposed for the Commonwealth. The Board will conduct 13 days of hearings at nine locations across Pennsylvania in April and May of 2006.

PA Gaming Control Board Finds 3 Submissions Ineligible for Consideration

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today entered orders finding that three entities seeking licenses to operate gaming facilities in the Commonwealth had made submissions to the Board that were statutorily ineligible for consideration for licensure.

The Board gave the entities – Trum Construction Co., Pennsylvania Gaming Group LLP and North Shore Gaming LP – an opportunity to show that the submissions were eligible and to ask the Board for reconsideration.

PA Gaming Control Board Names Donaghue Chief Counsel

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today unanimously appointed Frank T. Donaghue, a 10-year veteran of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, as its first chief counsel.

“Frank has dedicated his career to protecting the people of Pennsylvania, and that is exactly what the Gaming Control Board’s top priority is as it brings expanded gaming to the Commonwealth,” Board Chairman Tad Decker said. “His appointment is a major step forward for the agency and for gaming in Pennsylvania.”

PA Gaming Control Board Opens New Application Period for Manufacturers

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has opened a new period for manufacturers of slot machines and associated equipment to apply for licensure in the Commonwealth.

Manufacturer applicants have until Feb. 28, 2006, to file application forms to be considered for licensure.
