Resort Gaming License Public Input Hearing Schedule Announced

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced the schedule of public input hearings for four applicants vying for the remaining Category 3 license that would permit the operation of up to 600 slot machines and a maximum of 50 table games at a resort hotel.

Pennsylvania Slot Machine Revenue Rises 8.2% In June

HARRISBURG, PA: On the brink of adding table games, Pennsylvania’s nine operating casinos generated $98,222,005 in tax revenue from slot machine play during June of this year, an 8.17% increase compared to June, 2009.

At the June 30th close of Pennsylvania’s 2009/10 fiscal year, tax revenue from slot machines totaled $1,190,592,416, an increase of 23.42% from the 2008/09 fiscal year in which tax collections were $964,701,535.

Sands Casino Bethlehem Receives $48,000 Fine for Underage Patron Violations

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today fined Sands Bethworks Gaming, LLC, operator of the Sands Resort Casino Bethlehem for permitting underage patrons to gain entrance to the gaming floor and either gamble on slot machines, consume alcohol, or both.

Pennsylvania Slot Machine Revenue Rises 13% in May

HARRISBURG, PA: The play of slot machines in Pennsylvania returned $12,391,146 more in tax revenue during May of this year compared to the same month in 2009, an increase of 12.63%.

According to figures released today by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, the nine slot machine facilities operating during May of this year collectively generated $200,944,627 in gross revenue, compared to $178,415,270 in May of 2009. When the 55% tax rate is applied to the May 2010 gross revenue, tax collections were $110,519,545, an average of $3.57 million per day.

PGCB to Accept Applications for $2 Million Grant Program to Assist Law Enforcement Agencies in Preventing Unlawful Gaming Activities

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that applications for grants for law enforcement agencies to investigate violations and enforce laws relating to unlawful gambling in the Commonwealth are available on its web site.

The Local Law Enforcement Grant program was approved by the Legislature as part of the 2004 Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, but was amended in January of this year with the passage of legislation that also approved table games in state slot machine casinos.

April Slot Machine Revenue Up 30% Over Previous Year

HARRISBURG, PA: Slot machine-generated revenue in Pennsylvania increased by approximately 30% during April of 2010 compared to revenue in April of 2009.

Figures released today by the Gaming Control Board show that the nine slot machine facilities operating in Pennsylvania during April of this year collectively generated $195,253,066 in gross revenue, compared to $150,658,363 in April of 2009 when seven casinos were in operation. That is an increase of 29.60%.
