HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved the petitions of two casinos to conduct table games, bringing to seven the total of casinos that has gained this approval.

Self-Exclusion Violation Leads to $10,000 Fine for PA Casino

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today fined Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Inc., operator of the Parx Casino, $10,000 for providing a replacement players club card to a self-excluded person, permitting him access to the gaming floor on three separate occasions, and enabling him to play slot machines on one of the occasions without being identified.

Public Input Hearing to Consider Permitting Table Games at Sugarhouse Casino Scheduled for May 19th

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it would hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 to gather evidence, including public comment, on the petition submitted by SugarHouse HSP Gaming, L.P, operator of the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, requesting authorization to conduct table games.

The hearing will begin at 10:00 am in the Community College of Philadelphia’s Winnet Student Life Building Great Hall s2.19, located at 17th Street between Spring Garden & Callowhill Streets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Gaming Control Board Receives Three Category 3 Resort License Applications During Special 90 Day Period

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that three applications were filed during the special 90 day period established by the Pennsylvania Legislature in January to receive additional applications for the remaining Category 3 license. A Category 3 license authorizes an established hotel resort to operate up to 600 slot machines and up to 50 table games. Applications were to be postmarked no later than April 7, 2010.

PA Gaming Control Board Renews Slots License for Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today unanimously voted to renew the Category 2 slot machine license of Sands Bethworks Gaming, LLC, operator of the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.

The seven member Board determined that Sands Bethworks Gaming had fulfilled the obligations under its slot operator’s license and therefore qualified to have its license renewed.

Public Input Hearing to Consider Permitting Table Games at Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack Scheduled for April 20th

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it would hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 to gather evidence, including public comment, on the petition submitted by Chester Downs and Marina, LLC, operator of Harrah’s Chester Casino & Racetrack in Delaware County, requesting authorization to conduct table games.

The hearing will begin at 10:00 am at the Chester City Hall Council Chambers on the 2nd floor. City Hall is located at 1 Fourth Street in Chester, Pennsylvania.

March Slot Machine Revenue Up 29% Over Previous Year

HARRISBURG, PA: Slot machine-generated revenue in Pennsylvania increased by 29% during March of 2010 compared to March of 2009, while also showing a significant upturn from the revenue dip due to poor weather in February.

Figures released today by the Gaming Control Board show that the nine slot machine facilities operating in Pennsylvania during March of this year collectively generated $200,162,919 in gross revenue, compared to $155,119,467 in March of 2009 when seven casinos were in operation. That is an increase of 29.04%.
