HARRISBURG, PA: Despite record snowfalls throughout Pennsylvania that caused casino closures and made travel by patrons to the facilities difficult, tax revenue from the play of slot machines at the Commonwealth’s nine casinos was nearly 16% higher in February this year over February of 2009.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it has rescheduled the public hearing for Mount Airy Casino Resort’s request for authorization to conduct table games to Thursday, March 18, 2010. The original hearing was scheduled for February 25, 2010 but was cancelled due to a winter storm.

The rescheduled hearing will begin at 10:00 am at the Paradise Township Municipal Building, located at the intersection of Routes 191 and 940 in Cresco, Pennsylvania.

MOUNT POCONO: The Thursday, February 25, 2010 Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board public hearing for Mount Airy Casino Resort's request for authorization to conduct table games has been postponed due to the expected hazardous conditions in the Mount Pocono area from the impending snowstorm.

The meeting will be rescheduled and an announcement will be made when a new date and time is determined.

"In an abundance of caution, we felt it was best to postpone the public hearing,” said Gaming Control Board Executive Director, Kevin O’Toole.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it would hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 11, 2010 to gather evidence, including public comment, on the petition submitted by Sands Bethworks Gaming, LLC, operator of the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem in Northampton County, requesting authorization to conduct table games.

The hearing will begin at 10:00 am in the Bethlehem Town Hall located at 10 East Church Street in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that it would hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 to gather evidence, including public comment, on the petition submitted by Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Inc., operator of the parx casino in Bucks County, requesting authorization to conduct table games.

The hearing will begin at 10:00 am in the Bensalem Township Council Chambers, located at the Bensalem Municipal Complex, 2400 Byberry Road in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today unanimously approved a number of table games regulations, including those that define training requirements for dealers and the game specifications for a number of poker games.

The regulations for dealers require that they be trained in each type of table game in which they would deal, receiving the training either at an accredited school or a licensed casino facility, or have at least 6 months of table game dealing experience in another jurisdiction.

HARRISBURG, PA:  The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved a consent agreement that levies a $48,900 fine on Washington Trotting Association, Inc, d/b/a The Meadows Racetrack and Casino, for a variety of regulatory shortcomings, including violating internal controls relating to the payout of false jackpots.

The meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday February 17, 2010 at 1:00 pm in Room 8E-B in the East Wing of the State Capitol Building.
