David W. Woods
Former Commissioner

David W. Woods was appointed to a three-year term on the Gaming Control Board by Governor Tom Corbett on July 17, 2013.
Prior to his appointment to the Board, Woods was Chief of Staff to Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, and also served in the same role for Sen. F. Joseph Loeper from 1979 to 1998.
Mr. Woods served as the Senate Republican Representative on the Pennsylvania Convention Center Board, a board member of the Philadelphia Airport Advisory Board and previously served as a member of the board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), the Delaware County Solid Waste Authority (DCSWA), and as past chairman of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority.
Prior to rejoining the Senate of Pennsylvania, Mr. Woods worked for the Exelon Corporation where he was Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Issues Management.
Prior to that he served as Senior Vice President of Communications, Government and Environmental Affairs and Senior Vice President of Corporate and Public Affairs for PECO Energy.
Mr. Woods earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Shippensburg University.
He lives in Edgmont Township in Delaware County, with his wife Amy. They have raised four daughters and are proud grandparents.
