HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Thursday approved three grant requests totaling $315,760 to law enforcement agencies to fund programs designed to thwart illegal gambling in the Commonwealth.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today fined a New Jersey-based slot machine manufacturer for the late submission of necessary documents related to its license renewal.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today unanimously voted to renew the Category 1 casino operator’s license of Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, Inc., operator of the Parx Casino in Bucks County.

The seven member Board determined that Greenwood Gaming had fulfilled the obligations under its initial casino operator’s license and therefore qualified to have its license renewed. The new license is good for a three year period.

HARRISBURG, PA: The revenue generated by Pennsylvania’s nine casinos was 5.19% more in August 2010 compared to total revenue in August of last year.

The Gaming Control Board reported today that slot machines produced gross revenue of $196,635,849 in August of this year and $108,121,631 in tax revenue. That compares to $186,936,232 in gross revenue and $102,789,443 in tax revenue during August 2009. Slot machine revenue is taxed at 55%.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today released on its web site revenue figures for the first month of table games play at the nine operating casinos.

The report for July 2010, available on the Board’s web site at www.pgcb.state.pa.us, represents just a partial month of revenue since implementation of table games did not occur until the middle and latter parts of the month of July.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that, beginning on Monday August 9, 2010, it will make available for review the public files relating to the four operator license applications for the remaining Category 3 resort license.

The files will be available at the Board’s Office of Hearing and Appeals located at One Penn Center, 2601 N. 3rd Street, Suite 502 in Harrisburg. Persons interested in reviewing these files must contact Deb Joyce at 717-346-2708 to arrange a time during normal PGCB business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

HARRISBURG, PA: Pennsylvania’s casinos generated a record $116 million in slot machine tax revenue during July of this year, a 17.81% increase compared to July, 2009.

In figures released today by the Gaming Control Board, the Commonwealth received $116,079,631 in tax revenue, an average of $3.74 million per day. The casinos gross revenue was $211,053,874 from slot machine play.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has become the first Commonwealth agency to offer video of public meetings via the Internet.

Beginning today, videos of the 6 public board meetings or hearings dating back to May 13, 2010 are available on the PGCB’s web site, www.pgcb.state.pa.us, with meetings added soon after they occur.  Visitors can access the archived videos meeting page from a link on the PGCB web site home page, or from the calendar on its Board Meetings tab.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today announced that the August 31, 2010 public input hearing for Category 3 resort casino applicant Mason-Dixon Resorts, LP will be held at the Comfort Suites at 945 Baltimore Pike in Cumberland Township, Adams County. The hearing will begin at 10:00 am.

HARRISBURG: Reports outlining the impact that the four applicants for the remaining Category 3 resort casino license would have in their local area, along with a plan to meet diversity goals in their hiring, are now available for viewing and download on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s web site.
