PA Gaming Control Board Approves Regulations

Rules Govern Movement, Possession of Slot Machines; License Ownership; ‘Junkets’

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today unanimously approved a series of regulations governing the movement and possession of slot machines; ownership of gaming licenses; and “junkets,” a gaming industry promotional practice. The regulations will be available in their entirety on the Board’s Web site, www.pgcb.state.pa.us.

“With every set of regulations we pass, we come closer to the day when expanded gaming can begin in the Commonwealth and the people of Pennsylvania can begin to benefit from its presence,” said Chairman Tad Decker. “Our number one goal remains protecting the people of Pennsylvania by licensing only viable, reputable operators who will bring safe, enjoyable and profitable facilities to the state.”

Under Act 71 of 2004, the Gaming Control Board is responsible for licensing 14 slots-gaming facilities across the state, including seven at licensed horse-racing tracks, five standalone locations and two resort locations.
